GIS DRAFSTMAN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create, update, and maintain geographic information system (GIS) databases.
• Produce high-quality maps and other graphical representations of spatial data.
• Perform spatial analysis to support various projects and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand GIS requirements and objectives.
• Conduct data collection, validation, and quality assurance procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of GIS standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users of GIS software and tools.
• Stay updated on advancements in GIS technology and industry trends.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:

• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of spatial data concepts, including coordinate systems, projections, and geoprocessing techniques.
• Familiarity with data formats commonly used in GIS, such as shapefiles, geodatabases, and raster datasets.
• Knowledge of cartographic principles and techniques for map design and layout.
• Ability to interpret and analyze spatial data to derive meaningful insights and conclusions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Prior experience in GIS data management, analysis, or cartography is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
