Job Description
Description: ICE is an international institution with bilingual education, delivered in primary by one teacher for one language, French, and another teacher for the other language, English. The French curriculum program is developed and shared between the two teachers of the same class level. Some subjects are taught by specialized teachers (Arabic, robotics, chess, swimming, tennis, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree level +5 and hold a diploma of teacher education justifying 3 years of effective service.
Experience:
- Experience in management, excellent mastery and understanding of teaching the French curriculum and the British curriculum (or possessing a solid knowledge of the British curriculum).
- Experience in a French school abroad strongly desired.
- At least 5 years of experience in management and education in the United Arab Emirates would be an asset.
Language(s):
- Native level in French and fluent or native in English, given the bilingual framework of the institution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate bilingual teaching teams of teachers and assistants in English and French for kindergarten and primary school.
- Responsible for maintaining a healthy relationship between the school, students, and parents for daily routines.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and success of all students during school hours.
Pedagogical Responsibilities:
• Support teachers in transposing the school curriculum into their lesson planning.
• Verify the implementation of the school's bilingual program.
• Plan and lead educational projects.
• Anticipate the needs of teaching staff in their ongoing professional development.
• Ensure that student assessments are conducted appropriately.
• Ensure that students with disabilities receive appropriate care and manage PPREs (Personalized Plans for Educational Success).
• Verify the conformity of skills and competencies to be assessed with national standards (Official Bulletin) and the ICE program.
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Liaise with the school life coordinator.
• Produce reports and reports following meetings.
• Manage the pool of substitutes and organize replacements in case of absence.
•
Relations with Other Parties (Local Authorities, Parents, Academic Inspectors)
• Hold meetings with the teaching team, cycle meetings, coordination meetings, academic inspections, and external meetings with families and parent delegates.
