PROJECT ARCHITECT

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Architect to join our growing team. This role will focus on collaborating with the procurement team to manage the selection, specification, and acquisition of building materials and finishes for various construction projects. You will leverage your architectural expertise to ensure procured components align with the project design intent, budget, and schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with the procurement team to understand procurement processes and best practices for building materials and finishes.
• Review and interpret architectural drawings and specifications to identify and define material packages for procurement.
• Develop and maintain detailed package specifications, including technical requirements, quality standards, and performance criteria.
• Assist with the development of bid packages and prepare technical documentation for vendors.
• Evaluate vendor proposals based on design compliance, budget, schedule, and qualifications.
• Recommend vendors to the procurement team for award.
• Manage awarded packages, including communication with vendors, review of submittals, and coordination with construction teams.
• Ensure procured materials comply with project specifications and industry standards.
• Track and report on procurement progress for assigned packages.
• Maintain project documentation related to packages.
• May assist with construction administration activities related to procured materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural design and project management.
• Experience working with procurement teams on building material and finish selection is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, finishes, and building codes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• MUST have Packages experience.
