About the job Safety Officer - Gas Line Pipe Construction
Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards in gas line pipe construction projects.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on-site to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and equipment deficiencies, and take corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop and implement effective safety plans and risk management strategies.
Provide safety training and orientations for new hires and existing employees, emphasizing proper safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and other relevant safety-related activities.
Monitor and ensure compliance with hazardous material handling and storage procedures, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in safety management to continuously improve safety performance and reduce risks.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among employees and subcontractors through regular communication, training programs, and safety initiatives.
Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders on matters related to safety, environmental compliance, and occupational health.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management, preferably in gas line pipe construction or related industries.
Familiarity with local safety regulations and industry standards in the United Arab Emirates.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.
Must possess own visa or obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer.
