Senior Accountant Roles & Responsibilities
·Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures.
·Involvement in business registration, tax compliance and creating, distributing, and reporting tax datasheets.
·Maintain the general ledger, prepare tax returns, assist with audit preparations, and perform other accounting duties as assigned.
·Document and monitor internal controls in support of auditing team.
·Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
·Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
·Preparing financial analyses and reports.
·Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
·Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
·Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
·Assisting with annual audit preparations.
·Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.
·Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
·Thorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policies.
·Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
·Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
·Train and mentor junior staff.
·Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
·Prepare financial reports.
·Perform account reconciliations.
·Responsible for revenue month and close activities.
Senior Accountant Essential Skills
·Highly detail-oriented and organized.
·Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
·Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees and departments.
·Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Familiarity with accounting software and programs.
·Must have in-depth Excel and general ledger computer application knowledge, excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to exercise sound and logical judgment in various situations.
·Visible and recognized expertise in financial systems, including general ledger, GAAP, financial statement presentation, budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
·Strong financial analysis skills.
·Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
·Strong organizational and stress management skills.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
·Ability to train and manage staff.
·Visible and recognized expertise in financial systems, including general ledger, GAAP, financial statement presentation, budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Education Requirements
·More than 5+ years of general accounting & finance experience required within UAE market.
·SAP ERP Knowledge would be an added advantage.
·Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field.
·Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
·Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP and IFRS.
