SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery by providing technical expertise and ensuring the successful execution of designs. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet all requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with design intent, industry standards, and project specifications.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors in a timely and comprehensive manner, providing clear and concise technical explanations.
• Address contractor queries regarding mechanical designs, offering solutions and ensuring all parties are on the same page.
• Participate in site visits to review construction progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions as needed.
• Collaborate with design engineers and project managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other project disciplines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation.
• May assist with the development and review of design calculations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a strong focus on project delivery and construction support.
• Proven experience in reviewing and approving shop drawings and material submittals.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and their application in a construction setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
• Experience working on-site is a strong asset.
• Proficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Familiarity with REVIT) is required.
