In 1973 HEMPEL PAINTS (Saudi Arabia) W.L.L. became the first company to establish manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia. The joint venture between the worldwide HEMPEL Group and Gulf investors initially concentrated on supplying protective coatings to the Saudi Arabian oil industry from it's Dammam based factory.
In subsequent years, the compan began to exploit the opportunities that existed in the shipping industry, building upon the HEMPEL Group's traditional sphere of expertise and also entered the decorative paints market servicing both the civil and the domestic markets. As well as expanding its markets, the company also opend branches in Riyadh, Jeddah, Jubail and Yanbu to ensure that the high level of service that was the cornerstone of the company's successs in the Eastern Province, was provided throughout the Kingdom.
Today HEMPEL is one of the largest paint companies in the Kingdom supplying to the to the industrial, marine and decorative paints markets.
