SCCT in Port Said is a state-of-the-art container terminal located at the northern end of the Suez Canal. The majority shareholder of the terminal is APM Terminals, one of the largest container terminal operators in the world with over 50 container terminals spanning 31 countries and 5 continents.
SCCT has been serving global shipping lines since its inauguration in 2004 and is today the largest container terminal in Egypt and one of the largest facilities in the Mediterranean. An ambitious expansion program is currently underway, which by 2011 will see the terminal capacity doubled - an investment in excess of USD 500 million.
