AL-SHARQ PLASTIC INDUSTRIES CO. LTD. was established in Riyadh in 1976 and currently one of the largest plastic processor in Saudi Arabia. It specializes primarily in the production of plastic films and general plastic products but also manufactures variety of paper products. The bulk of the Al-Sharq products are sold in the domestic regional markets, with approximately 20% of the sales exported to customers in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. One of the distinguishing features of Al-Sharq is the diversity of its product range amounting to over 500 in number. This product range is based principally on the processes of injection moulding, blow moulding and film blowing. The company's main objective is to develop its market position and sales through the maintenance of its wide product range and a high quality image. In parallel with this, it is seeking to strengthen profitability through increasing sales of higher margin value-added products. Al-Sharq production operations are spread over seven factories in Riyadh Industrial Estates, one plant in Jeddah and one in Dubai (UAE) with a workforce of over 650 professionals. The Factories have more than 500 moulds and over 200 manufacturing machines. These include some of the largest and most technically advanced plastic processing systems in the Middle East.
