1. Importer/Manufacturer/Distributor Imports, manufactures and markets a wide variety of food items specializing in confectioneries. 2. Fast Growing Company Al Wefag is a relatively young company having been established in 1960 initially only as a food wholesaler. Soon after, the company went into importation and distribution of many imported confectionery products and finally ventured into manufacturing in 1995 producing the leading ice pop product (Dandormah) in the Kingdom. In recent years Al Wefag has grown rapidly handling no less than 50 international brands. Al Wefag continues its expansion with the planned set up of new manufacturing concerns in snacks and will develop its own private brands in other food categories under Borgat and its Swiss based subsidiary called Arosa. 3. Wide Product Range Al Wefag currently sells around 200 different products (inclusive of varieties and sizes) and continuously upgrades its portfolio to ensure it carries superior products from different countries worldwide. The existing products fall under the following categories, but will soon be joined by other important food categories: - Ice lollipop - Confectionery (Gummy, gums and other candies) - Chocolate - Biscuits/Cookies - Snacks 4. Sales Organization Al Wefag’s sales organization has expanded rapidly. Total sales force has more than doubled in 2002 from only 30 to more than 80 salesmen today. Al Wefag has 9 sales branches covering key cities of the Kingdom. The company has gained strong foothold of the trade in all levels of distribution, from supermarkets to wholesalers and to the smallest of groceries.
