About Amar Finance & leasing Co.

Amar Finance and Leasing Company (“Amar”), registered with Central Bank of Kuwait, was established in 2004 as a Shari' a compliant real estate finance and Investment company with a capital of KD 20 million. Amar currently engages in a variety of financial activities, namely commercial real estate Islamic financing (through Murabaha and Ijara contracts), Proprietary Investments into multiple asset classes and Corporate Finance. The Company’s major shareholders are: Gulf Investment House National Industries Company Commercial Real Estate Company Markaz Al Ahlia Insurance Company Al-Shaya Family CORPORATE STRATEGY Focus: Amar focuses on differentiating its position in the markets place with respect to the services and products it offers. In real estate finance, Amar focuses on transactions that require some level of structuring, moving away from the highly competitive plain vanilla real estate financing. Typically such transactions would require mezzanine financing, and some legal advisory. As for real estate investments, Amar invests in properties where it believes it can add substantial value to the property, often by maximizing the use of the property/land or by demolishing and reconstructing. With respect to its corporate finance activities, Amar focuses on smaller transactions requiring substantial structuring and allowing for higher fees. For example, Amar recently lead managed an innovative Sukuk issue, as it was backed predominantly by a portfolio of leasehold and BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) contracts.
