ASKARI BANK was incorporated in Pakistan on October 09, 1991, as a public limited company. It commenced its operations on April 01, 1992, and is principally engaged in the business of banking, as defined in the Banking Companies Ordinance 1962. The Bank is listed on the Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad Stock Exchanges and its share is currently the highest quoted from among the new private sector banks in Pakistan. Askari Bank has a nationwide presence of 74 branches, and one offshore banking unit in Bahrain. As of December 31, 2004, the Bank had equity of Rs. 6 billion and total assets of Rs. 107 billion with over 475,000 satisfied customers. Askari Bank has A1+ rating for short-term obligations, which is the highest in the category and AA+ long term rating from Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA).
