The Aujan Group’s beverage business, led by the Aujan Coca-Cola Beverage Company (ACCBC) and Rani Refreshments (RR), ranks among the top 100 companies in Saudi Arabia and holds a top three market position in every country in which it operates. Its core markets are the Gulf Cooperation Council countries of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Oman, along with Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, and Egypt. ACCBC and RR also operate across North Africa, the Levant, East Africa and South East Asia, with its products currently enjoyed in over 70 countries around the world.
The business’s greatest strengths are its well-established owned and licensed brands, including Rani, Barbican and Vimto, which are manufactured at facilities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and supported by over 2,500 employees globally.
In September 2012, The Coca-Cola Company completed a transaction to acquire approximately half of the Aujan Group’s beverage business, putting the final seal on the largest-ever investment by a multinational firm in the Middle East’s fast moving consumer goods sector.
The $980 million transaction led to the creation of two new companies: Rani Refreshments (RR), which holds the global rights to brands such as Rani and Barbican, and the Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company (ACCBC), an authorized manufacturer and distributor of RR products.
The partnership has created a platform to accelerate the international growth of Rani and Barbican, which continue to drive the company’s growth, while also enhancing the regional outlook for licensed brand Vimto.
