About Baheya Hospital

Baheya is the first free of charge center in Egypt specialized in early detection and treatment of women diagnosed with breast cancer, which is the most common cancer amongst women. According to the WHO, one out of eight women will develop breast cancer, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year. It is increasing particularly in developing countries where the majority of cases are diagnosed in late stages. Their records show that 1.6 million new case of breast cancer is discovered each year, however these percentages vary from one country to another. In Egypt, the National Cancer Institute announced that 110 thousand new cancer cases are discovered annually, half of them in women, which is equivalent to 55 thousand cases, of which breast cancer represents one-third of the cases – which amounts to about 18 thousand new cases of cancer discovered each year. In order to improve the outcome and survival rate, early detection remains the cornerstone of breast cancer control, as it opens the door to several treatment options and therefore a greater chance of survival of up to 98% in the first stage, 93% in the second stage and 73% in the third stage.

To be the national leading facility in early detection and treatment of breast cancer and to reach out for all women and help every family maintain its most precious pillar that is the mother, wife and daughter. Our goal is for our doors to be opened for all women for breast cancer treatment and hopefully all women cancers.

Mission

Is to ensure optimal breast healthcare is provided to all women. Using a patient centered multidisciplinary approach and through excellence in early detection, treatment, education and research, Baheya will impact the breast cancer treatment nationally.
