1.The Company: a.You will be working with one of Oman's largest media establishments, with leadership position in various areas. The Company is part of the multi-million-rial conglomerate, whose identity will be released on receipt of your resume. 2.Magazine: a.Oman’s new automotive magazine that has over two years of research and development behind it. Having learnt from various experiences of various car magazines based in the Middle-East, the new product shall create a force that will shatter boundaries in automotive journalism in the ME. 3.Position: a.The vacancy is for the post of Assistant Editor 4.Requirements: Those who see themselves in this designation will have: a.About five years of journalism experience; b.Including, at least four years in Automotive Journalism; c.Will have sound knowledge of the engineering and dynamics of the motor vehicle; d.Will be competent in the written and spoken English language; e.Should be able to lead a team, work under-pressure and meet strict deadlines. f.Must work within the boundaries of the Magazine and that of the Company. g.Must score an easy minimum 50 percent in a live, five-minute, multiple-choice, automotive questionnaire 5.Job Description: a.Main: i.Meet and conduct interviews, write travel stories and promote reader interactivity, ii.Work with the design photography team to achieve the best visuals, iii.Edit, re-write and filter news articles and press-releases for the content, iv.Work with contributors, v.And basically suggest, steer and shoulder the Magazine as your own. b.Parallel: i.Analyse test-drive vehicles to its full extent and write its story, ii.Assist in supplying content, publishing, and maintaining the Magazine’s website. iii.Create, assist and team-up to execute automotive events and such. iv.Shoot and record candid pictures of anything automotive at anytime.
