About Finn Church Aid

About us: Finn Church Aid (FCA) is a major NGO in development cooperation and humanitarian aid in Finland. A faith-based organisation with more than 60 years of experience in aid work, we carry out development cooperation, humanitarian assistance and advocacy work on behalf of the Evagelical Lutheran Church in Finland. FCA specialises in supporting local communities in three priority areas: the right to peace, livelihood and education. Who we are: Our task is to reduce, together with less privileged people, their vulnerability and to work towards a more just world. We aim at acquiring influence with those who are marginalized and whose voices are not heard. We are one of the ten partner organisations of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. We form part of the ACT Alliance, a network of church-related development organisations. ACT Alliance is one of the largest aid agency networks in the world. We are also a member of Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP). Finn Church Aid is an independent non-profit organisation whose activities are financed by private donations from the public, funds from Evangelical Lutheran parishes, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, UN, EU, ECHO and other bilateral donors. Regular donors are the foundation of our private fundraising. FCA is also a partner of European Commission Humanitarian Office ECHO. We are a global member of the UN Education Cluster working in close partnership with several UN Agencies. We have a staff of 180 people, in Finland and in the programme countries. Our annual budget is approximately 26 million euros.
