      About our Client:  A novel educational approach is being piloted in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, focused on the extensive use of technology. 11-year old students will be the lucky recipients of this approach, starting Sunday 28 August 2016 (when new school term begins) and until 30 June 2017. If the pilot is a success, as we believe it will be, it will be extended for future academic years. Location: Abu Dhabi Job Title: Curriculum Developer for the following subjects: Math, Science, English, Arabic Studies Reporting To: Program and Curriculum Manager Contract Duration: From September 2016 till 30 June 2017, subject to extension if pilot successful.  Education: Required • Bachelor’s degree in specialized subject or related field Preferred • Master's degree in instructional design, instructional technology or related field Languages: Fluent in English, Arabic a major plus  Experience: · Experience teaching K-12 (in particular Primary School students)· Experience in curriculum development· Processes and standards for planning and implementing instructional design and development· Instructional technology media and materials development and implementation principles· Producing e-content· Instructional strategies, curriculum standards, and assessments· Familiarity with various Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, …) Responsibilities: Primarily, the Curriculum Developer will have to create lesson plans and learning outcomes according to the Abu Dhabi Education Council’s (ADEC) curriculum, then map each lesson plan to one or more technology content providers, for example, Youtube lessons, or from other companies that are specialized in digital content. Some of these companies have already been identified (Math Whizz, Adaptive Curriculum, Achieve 3000, etc.), but Curriculum Developer is free to recommend others. If content is not available, Curriculum Developer will have to work with Technical team to produce such multi-media content.  · Direct the planning, development, field-testing, and evaluation of curriculum· Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities based on the approved curriculum that facilitate student learning using technology· Develop schemes of work and lesson plans for individualized learning using various software· Select (or set) challenging learning outcomes in accordance with the curriculum for students of all backgrounds and abilities· Organize instructional resources to create a positive learning environment that is technology based· Identify and select methods and instructional resources to meet students' varying needs· Set homework to consolidate and extend student knowledge and understanding· Use an appropriate range of assessment strategies to monitor individual student progress electronically· Provide regular and appropriate feedback on work to individual students· Analyze students' progress and develop remediation plans to meet student needs· Participate in arrangements for external examinations
