About Mintra

Mintra was started in 1964 by the Cassis family as a publishing house for scientific books, trading as the Egyptian Book House (EBH). In 1976, EBH entered the binding and laminating market by importing these products and selling them in the Egyptian market. In the late 80s, the Egyptian government started encouraging Egyptian producers and stopped companies from importing finished goods. In response to this decision the Cassis family opened its first factory in 1989 in 6th of October City. This factory produced its own binding and laminating products for the Egyptian market and started to export to France in 1990. In 1997, and due to its expansion, Mintra built a new factory in the Free Zone – Nasr City where it updated its machinery and entered the filing production market which included lever arch files and invested in Polypropylene (PP) extrusion and its products: PP ring binders, folders, box holders etc. In 2003, Mintra started producing notebooks using its in-house PP & Binding machines to produce covers and wires used in notebooks. Mintra's marketing team targeted Students, Professionals and other markets in search of quality Egyptian products. The objective was to become the first company in Egypt to produce and sell FSC certified stationery products. There is a growing demand for certified products and the company has embarked on the certification process to secure existing markets and break into new markets. The product group includes registers, account books, notebooks, letter pads, diaries and similar articles, blotting-pads, binders, file covers, forms and other articles of stationery. Currently Mintra exports 88% of its production, under the label "Made in Egypt"
