The pastry chef is primarily responsible for creating desserts, sweets etc., shall consult with the executive chef to create deserts that go with the menu. Create and prepare desert menu items. Is responsible for determining what items need to be purchased for the kitchen and submitting a budget for those items. Supervise other kitchen staff who assist in the preparation of desserts. Demonstrates hands on approach to all bakery products produced in the Pastry Department insuring quality, presentation and consistency standards meet company standards. Responsible for complete set up, cleanliness and organization of the Pastry Department and bakery areas at all kitchen locations. Creates recipe cards for all menu items and trains Bakers using recipe cards. Reviews menu items and makes changes as necessary. Assists the Executive Chef with annual budget process and makes recommendations with regards to the Bakery Department

Assist the HR Manager with generalist HR matters,
Ongoing review and enhancement of Company and HR Policies and Procedures in line with legislative developments
Prepare staff handbook and update whenever required.
Develop with line managers HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;
Handling of disciplinary investigations, hearings, appeals and grievances

Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions
