SHUAA Capital SHUAA Capital was established in Dubai in 1979 as a public shareholding company to invest and promote capital flow into the Arab region. SHUAA Capital pursued this strategy by focusing primarily on private equity investments, establishing itself as a pioneer in the region. In 1996, the company added Asset Management capabilities in listed Arab equities, followed by Arab private equity in 1998 and Arab fixed income securities in 2000. In May 2000, SHUAA Capital officially became a “full fledged investment bank” under the supervision of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank and expanded its service to include brokerage in local and international securities and corporate finance services; banking, financial and investment advisory services. More recently, SHUAA Capital has emphasized the opportunities available within the GCC markets and has established individual funds for different classes of assets. Funds managed by SHUAA Capital today include: Arab Gateway Fund, AL-THIQA Emirates Fund and GCC and Arab Income Fund “TAIF”. SHUAA Capital is essentially the first established investment group dedicated to the Arab/GCC region and can draw upon a 20-year history of successful private equity in those markets. SHUAA Capital acts both as a principal and intermediary in its investment transactions. It is active in the placement of these investments with institutional and interval clients. The company focuses on building sound and lasting relationships with its business partners. SHUAA Capital’s core-competency remains with the GCC and Arab markets and is built upon the skills and knowledge of an experienced team of professionals who have a unique track record in international, GCC and Arab debt and equity markets.
