Founded in 1965 by an ambitious 17 year old Fred DeLuca, who opened his first Sub shop, 'Pete's Super Submarines', in his hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut in the USA. In 1974, the Subway brand's first franchise opened and in 1994 David Morrisey opened the first Subway store in the United Kingdom (UK) and Republic of Ireland market. In 2014, Kout Food Group acquired the franchise opportunity to operate in the UK market and invested in 6 locations within the existing Little Chef and Burger King roadside estate.
