Is the Egyptian subsidiary of Italcementi Group. •Acquisition took place in June 2005 by increasing Italcementi shares in Suez Cement Co. to 52% instead of 32%; immediately after this acquisition, they increased their shares in TPCC & recently they bought 98% of Helwan through Suez Cement Co., that’s why all the directors are expatriates except for the legal director (Egyptian). •Italcementi is the 5th producer of cement worldwide, 3rd across Europe & 1st in Italy with around 18000 employees worldwide. •Headquarters is divided between Paris (France) & Bergamo (Italy). •Italcementi has around 53 plants worldwide in around 19 countries as follows: (Egypt – Morocco – Italy – France – Bulgaria – Greece – Turkey - US - Thailand- Kazakhstan – Belgium – Spain………..etc). •Suez Cement Group in Egypt consists of the following: •Suez Cement Company: •Kattameya Plant + Kattameya Headquarters (HC 900) - (Since 1978) •Suez Plant (HC 900) – (Since 1976) •Tourah Portland Cement Company: •Tourah Plant (HC 1000) •Helwan Cement Company: •Helwan plant (HC 1400) •El-Menia Plant (HC 300) •Ready Mix Baton: •Acquisition Later 2006 (HC 450) •The mother company is Suez Cement Company through which the other companies (TPCC & HCC) are managed & operated. •Suez Cement Group produces more than 32% of the market share in grey cement & more than 50% in white cement. •Total headcount in Egypt is around (5100) + around 2000 through subcontractors. •The group produces around 12 million tons of clinker each year. •Egyptian subsidiary now contains the largest manpower & largest production volumes.
