Synthomer Middle East is the latest step in the continuing development of the Middle East’s largest manufacturer of dispersions polymer. It is the new corporate identity of DCI-Harco Ltd., originally established in 1995 as a joint venture between Harlow Chemicals, UK and DCIM, KSA. DCIM is a conglomerate of Saudi shareholders with a diverse portfolio of business interests throughout the Kingdom. Harlow Chemicals subsequently evolved into Synthomer UK Ltd. and is the leading manufacturer and supplier of waterborne dispersion polymers in the UK, servicing the paints, adhesives, construction and textile industries. Since the start of the joint venture, Synthomer Middle East has seen a rapid expansion to become the number one supplier of water-based dispersion polymers in Arabia, North East Africa and the Middle East. The Synthomer Middle East manufacturing base stands on an 81,000 m² site in Dammam second industrial city, well placed to serve both the local KSA markets and the growing export opportunities. By combination of on-going technical expertise and development from Synthomer UK, and the infrastructure, logistics and local market knowledge of DCIM, DCI-Harco aims to continue building on its strength in wide ranging and diverse markets to strengthen its position as the leading company in its field throughout the region.
