Granted a Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth in 1600, The East India Company was founded to explore the mysteries of The East. It discovered exotic goods, established the cities of Singapore, Hong Kong and Mumbai, and impacted customs, tastes, and ways of thinking - influencing the very fabric of our lives today. London was the centre, filled with treasures of fine teas, coffees, silks and spices from far off lands, available in the same place for the first time.
