Deputy General Manager

Job Description
1. Assesses the overall environment and interprets or translates the resulting data into useful planning information for the GM.

2. Participates with the GM in charting the course of the organization in response to the developing needs of the market and in fomulating and recommending sound strategies and plans designed to meet those needs.

13. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to serve as its Program Manager for Teaching and Learning. The position is responsible for developing and administering the Foundation’s education professional development programs and related initiatives. Key responsibilities include supervising a small team of staff, managing courses, liaising with service providers, identifying new training opportunities in collaboration with local government, coordinating impact assessments, and managing the Ras Al Khaimah Teachers’ Network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and manage all staff in the Teaching and Learning Department (Program Coordinator, Program Assistant, English Language Trainer)

Provide oversight and program management for all teacher professional development courses, RAK Prison professional development courses, and student English classes

Develop and revise course material for appropriate professional development courses

Deliver at least one professional development course per semester

Compile and review annual budget for the Teaching and Learning Department

Develop and coordinate bi-annual Teacher Exchange Program

Oversee the continued development of the Ras Al Khaimah Teachers’ Network as an effective, online professional network

Prepare contracts and manage relationships with external training providers, course instructors, and teaching assistants

Identify potential collaborative programs with other education institutions and organizations across the UAE
