Our client is one of the Middle East’s most prestigious law firms with 10 offices in 6 countries.

They are looking for a senior corporate commercial lawyer to join their team in Abu Dhabi.

The company is offering an attractive tax free package for the right individual including medical insurance, annual airfare ticket allowance and 22 business days annual leave a year. The salary is between 40 - 50,000 AED per month.

Primary Job Purpose
• Gives legal advice within the corporate commercial practice.
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• First point of call for client interface on matters handled
• Develop and take initiatives to win business / new clients for the Firm.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops existing business and cliental

• Supervises, coordinate activities and mentor junior associates within the department
• Prepares legal briefs, develops strategy, arguments, and testimony in preparation for presentation of case.
• Liaises with colleagues from relevant practice areas / departments on lawsuits to establish and verify basis for legal proceedings
• Provides advice to corporate clients concerning transactions of business involving internal affairs, stockholders, directors, officers, and corporate relations with general public.
• Drafts, negotiate and execute contracts
• Provides advice to clients on their legal rights and obligations

HR Manager Job

A regional and growing law firm with a presence in the Middle East for over 30 years and with a number of offices across the region is seeking to hire an HR manager to handle all its human resources needs.

The main role of the HR manager will be to put HR systems and policies in place across many different categories. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, recruitment, training & development, communication, performance management, salary & benefits, implementing & controlling policies, overseeing & controlling staff leave time, team building activities, employee morale, etc.

The role will require close collaboration with one of the senior partners on a day to day basis.

Typical job activities will include:
• Introduce & implement HR systems and procedures.

Under management of the Regional EU-ME Manager ( CST ) and the Regional Office Administrator, and following prescribed departmental, Office and Firm procedures, the TSS Regional Offices Coordinator is responsible for the technical and operational oversight and support of Office computer systems and equipment.

The TSS Regional Offices Coordinator is expected to demonstrate initiative, set priorities, ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments, and comply with Firm and Office policies and procedures. The Technology Support Services Office Coordinator is expected to maintain expertise in the tasks and services provided by the TSS department and to work on assigned tasks.

The TSS Regional Offices Coordinator is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, he must fulfill the needs of the Offices in a manner, which is consistent with the Firm's visions and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties are performed throughout every work day, as necessary):

•Maintain overall responsibility for Office computer systems and equipment to ensure that equipment is operational. Assure that technology adequately meets client, lawyer and staff requirements.

•Implement, at the Office level, firm technology standards, policies and programs.

•Set priorities and coordinate daily workflow for the department, ensuring quality of work and timely completion of assignments during regular business hours and on an overtime/weekend staffing basis.

•Monitor department productivity; develop and implement procedures to optimize effectiveness; ensure that space, equipment and technology are used effectively.

•Resolve problems when possible, and, as necessary, report problems to others in the Office or department in a timely manner.

•Maintain a professional and courteous manner at all times, contribute to constructive resolution of issues within the Office and the Firm.

•In conjunction with the Regional Office Administrator, ensure compliance with Office and Firm policies and legal obligations. In particular, demonstrate a general understanding of leave and payroll issues, as well as medical and disability laws and policies, and show an unequivocal commitment to equal employment opportunity.

•Prepare and monitor department budgets and expenditures, and ensure that vendors provide cost-effective goods and services.

•Enter, update, and close Help Desk tickets in the Help Desk software system. Tickets are to be maintained in a timely fashion, with the goal of updating/closing tickets within one business day of the creation of the ticket.

•Enter and maintain records in the appropriate Firm TSS system(s) used for the tracking of work and associated time.

•Carry PDA during unscheduled days or shift times for emergency scheduling requirements.

•Equitably distribute available resources among end-users.

OTHER DUTIES (Duties are performed periodically, as necessary):

•Under the direction of the Regional Office Administrator and Regional EU-ME Manager, evaluate current contracts and research alternative providers for goods and services; evaluate bid proposals and make recommendations on contracts.

•Coordinate and work as a team with other departments and workgroups to provide necessary services to lawyers and clients.

•Develop long-term plans and goals for the Department in cooperation with the Regional Office Administrator and Local Office Support Senior Manager.

•Participate in available professional development activities; monitor publications and other sources of information for trends affecting the Department's performance.

•Consult with clients on technical issues relating to their computer interaction with Jones Day.

•Participate in Office and Firm projects as needed.

•Proofread and redline work for accuracy of copy, format, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
•Receive, screen and transmit telephone calls, conference calls and messages to/from attorneys, clients and staff.
•Perform secretarial functions associated with Firm administrative tasks, including processing new client/matter reports, time reports and expense reports.
•Coordinate travel arrangements, conferences, meetings and appointments.
•Provide secretarial assistance to visiting Attorneys.
•Meet and greet visitors and manage the front desk operations.
•Handle incoming and outgoing mail. Coordinate courier services.
•Set up and maintain files.
•Assist in tracking and maintaining time and attendance records.
•Coordinate work as needed with service departments, including Word Processing, TSS, Support Services and Financial Services.
•Perform general office administration tasks.
•Assist with annual operating and capital budget process.
