Department Manager

Job Role Summary:

To lead the department team members to achieve green status in Retail Execution through the consistent delivery of operational, visual and customer service standards. To deliver all agreed KPI’s through the utilisation of all available resources in accordance with Company policies and procedures in order to maximise profit and minimise loss.

Key Accountabilities:

Operational:

• Effectively deploy available resources through the utilisation of the Branch Master Schedule.

• Assist the Deputy Manager to achieve same day door to floor delivery and maintain the Stockroom to Model store standard .

• In the absence of a Senior Manager, actively Duty Manage in line with company guidelines.

• Assist with the recruitment, training and retention of a high calibre team with the right competency level to deliver retail execution objectives.

• Effectively manage all employee relation issues in a timely manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Effective and efficient handling of all stock to maximise availability, aid replenishment and avoid unnecessary marked and damaged .

• Conduct regular departmental commercial reviews to explore and identify profit making opportunities to drive sales and minimise loss.

• Implement departmental visual merchandise updates and phase layouts as per guidelines and timescales.

• Implement all departmental promotions and initiatives to achieve 100% adherence to company guidelines .

• Implement and utilise all Point of Sale materials.

• Assist in the analysis of departmental reports to identify stock and cash loss areas of risk and develop action plans to minimise loss .

• Comply with Profit Protection and Health, Safety and Fire procedures in order to provide a safe working environment.

• Actively promote the Matalan Loyalty card and capture customer details including email accounts in order to maintain an accurate registration system and expand our company database.

• Job Location will be in Dubai / Abu Dhabi / Kuwait / Jordan / Syria / Lebanon.
