IT Officer

A leading technology company in the financial markets sector are establishing a new business in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
There is now a need to recruit an experienced IT officer who takes care of the daily
IT operations for the trading engine and act as a first line support.

The role will include the following responsibilities:

• 24/7 shift work to cover key functions of the entire Exchange/IT services specially on proactive monitoring, escalations, reporting and executing the routine tasks on different platforms.

• Provide physical environments monitoring and access management of critical Data centres.

• Perform Data Centre operation activities and ensure the successful completion of all processing in accordance with the defined schedules and procedures.

• Execute backup jobs and handle input/output and back-up media.
Interpret application messages and perform required actions or escalate promptly to the concerned support teams.

• Report all identified service breakdowns together with the necessary follow up.

• Assist in executing ongoing operational activities and analyze performance to identify problems.

• Follow the routine preventive maintenance and report all equipment breakdowns together with the necessary follow-up.

• Please note that this position works an evening shift although training will be conducted during normal working hours.

Skills

Experience in handling core system and data center operations.
• Experience dealing and interfacing with internal teams and IT Infrastructure staff and management.

• Strong reporting and communications skills and experience.

• Ability to deal with core system monitoring and identify performance degrades.

• Ability in working, supporting, and troubleshooting Data Centre environment.

• Fair experience working in IT operations and help desk.
