Electrical Service Engineer

Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, replace and retrofit of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution and motor control center products and equipment. Performs testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting and part component replacement services on customer products. Constructs and tests circuits and equipment utilizing various tools and machines such as computers, workstations, circuit diagrams and test instrumentsequipment. Analyzes malfunctions in equipment and interprets maintenance manuals, using knowledge of systems, electricity, electronics and mechanics to isolate and correct the fault. Consults with product support and engineering personnel to determine solutions to unusual problems in system operation. Retrofitting - Removes old equipment, replaces with new, assuring compatibility and correct functioning by using combination of mechanical and electrical skills. Collects installed base data for the Installed Base Management databank. Searches out other service opportunities during field service calls. Assists sales administration with identification of parts as required. Develops and maintains ongoing customer relationships with regards to all aspects of equipment repair and maintenance. Correctly fills out service call records, timesheets and other documents as required on site and has Customer approval as required. Submits same to his manager in a regular and timely fashion. Supports the Quality department and other entities of the group in attending warranty claims, inspections etc. as directed by his manager. Provides basic customer dedicated training on MVLV productsequipments for installation and operation.

Skills

Skills A Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 6 years experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and retrofitting electrical distribution equipment. Preference for experience in both Low as well as Medium Voltage equipment. Should be familiar with electrical test equipment and able to perform control wiring. Good Mechanicalelectromechanical skills. Previous experience in retrofitting of circuit breakers would be a distinct advantage Good experience with motor control centers preferably drawout type. Some knowledge of Speed Drives and Programmable Controllers though not essential would be advantageous. Must have good communication and interfacing skills. Should be fit to travel frequently in Gulf countries as well as working offshore in Oil and Gas sites. To work flexible hours as per the job requirement either on site or in the workshop Able to control and direct small numbers of subcontracted labour from time to time who may be designated to assist him on larger jobs. Driving license required. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
