Construction Manager - Oil & Gas - Qatar

This opportunity is located in our office in Qatar and is a long term rewarding job for candidates who are skilled and motivated to prove their value. Presently the company is enjoying rapid expansion. As a result, Cegelec is on a recruitment drive to hire professional staff to increase the existing team of professionals. Therefore we have a position to fill in as Construction Manager for one of our oil and gas projects in Ras Lafan, Qatar.

The Candidate should be familiar with all activities and provisions of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Industrial Projects. Plan, direct, coordinate, or budget, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

He will be responsible for:

 Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.

 Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.

 Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with safety codes, and other regulations.

 Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.

 Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

 Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.

 Direct and supervise workers.

 Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.

 Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project.

 Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.

 Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.

 Develop and implement quality control programs.

 Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.

 Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.

 Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.

 Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at Project sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.

 Evaluate work methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using computers.

Skills

Compulsory skills to apply for this opportunity:

1. Must have a university degree in the field of Electrical Engineering;
2. Must have a solid background in Oil and Gas projects, as well as related work experience within the construction industry;
3. At least 10 years experience in Construction management;
4. Should be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
5. Good oral and written communication skills in English, Proficiency in Arabic (optional)
6. International mobility;
7. Well organized, autonomous in his job and able to make the right decision at his level.
