Geomatics Team Leader
Shell International

Shell Libya is looking for an experienced professional to lead the Geomatics Team.

Responsibilities:
In this position you will lead a small geomatics team. You will be responsible for the coordinated integrity of all Shell activities in Libya. Your team will manage GIS activities and help customers and other departments to make effective use of geo-data and satellite imagery
You will be responsible for:
. all geomatics activities and geo-data management
. ensuring that all existing and newly acquired Shell EP Libya data is correctly geo-referenced.
. fully utilising geo-information and satellite imagery where it can add value for Shell EP Libya.
. maintaining good communication and liaison with customers, contractors, Shell and stakeholders.
. defining, building and maintaining effective interfaces between Geomatics and various (customer) workflows in Shell Libya teams.
. improving the performance, quality, value and cost effectiveness of Geomatics support delivered to customers.

Skills

Requirements:
We are looking for Libyan professionals with fluent spoken and written English and good IT skills. You are able to build relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds and levels of development.

A degree level qualification in Surveying or Geodesy is required in addition to 10 years experience of field surveying practices including traditional survey techniques and GPS technology.
You are highly skilled in surveying, geodesy, mapping/GIS and remote sensing.
You have a working knowledge of both 2D and 3D seismic acquisition processes.
You have experience of working in multi-discipline teams and appreciation of the challenges of work carried out in remote locations, and in using ArcGIS and other mapping/geo-information packages
You have a knowledge of seismic survey and GPS processing software and you have
demonstrable strengths in HSE and hazard management, a broad understanding of E&P lifecycle activities, especially those where Geomatics has an important contribution to make.
