Quality Assurance Assistant- Food Safety
Huntress International

 Ensure all products are received, stored and distributed in compliance with companies SOPs;
 Manage the Hold/Release (Quarantine) program
 Assist in the traceability and recall programs;
 Along with the QA Manager conduct internal audits of the depot ensuring strict compliance with Supremes operating principles, procedures and standards;
 Along with the QA Manager assist with external inspections;
 Conduct in-house inspections of depot to ensure a high level of hygiene and housekeeping standards;
 Provide training on Pre-requisite programs (food handling/hygiene, SOPs, Housekeeping, Process Control etc) and HACCP;
 Ensure the development of the quality culture on site to increase employee awareness to factors that may compromise food safety;
 Maintain, control and conduct maintenance of the QMS, HACCP document to reflect additions, deletions, or amendments;
 Continually review SOPs with depot staff to ensure procedures are up to date and accurate;
 Provide technical guidance and support on quality issues, product specification and non-conformances to QA Manager, DGMs and senior management.
 Ensure customer complaints are handled in a timely manner and corrective actions are implemented to rectify issues.
 Deputize for QA Manager when required.

Skills

 Tertiary education with a qualification in a Science discipline (Food Technology).
 A strong understanding of Quality Systems, Food Safety Management preferably in a food manufacturing or distribution background. (A minimum of 5 years experience)
 Formal auditor qualification in HACCP/Food Safety Systems
 Fluent in written and spoken English;
 Strong attention to detail;
 Experience working with people at all levels of the organisation;
 Experienced PC user familiar with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
Desirable:
 Experience in the implementing, developing and conducting food hygiene / food safety training;
 Formal HACCP/Food Safety qualification;
 Experience with Exceed Warehouse Management System
