JOB DESCRIPTION.
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Project Manager, the Surveyor makes exact measurements and determines property boundaries. Provides data relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth's surface for engineering, mapmaking, mining, land evaluation, construction, and other purposes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

 Prepares and maintains sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for works performed.

 Verifies the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.

 Directs or conducts surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for construction projects.

 Records the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land, land features or structures.

 Calculates heights, depths, relative positions, boundary lines, and other characteristics of terrains and structures.

 Prepares or supervises preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.

 Plans and conducts ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.

 Coordinates findings with the site engineers, clients, and others concerned with projects.

 Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolite, transit, level, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS) and any other surveying related instruments required by the Client.

 Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.

 Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.

 Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.

 Develops survey data for as-built drawings.

 Performs other duties related to surveying as may be required by the Asst. Project Manager.

Skills

Degree in Geodetic Engineering or diploma in Surveying with more than 10 years actual site experience in surveying works for construction of large-scale building projects. Familiar with all the applications of surveying tools and accessories.
