Geotechnician II
Al-Hugayet Group

A) When in the Laboratory module (Thin section, biostratigraphy, MGL)
1- Prepares rock thin sections using the available equipment as per the standard procedure including staining.
2- Prepares palynology slides using the available equipment and procedures.
B) When in the core handling module
3- Fixes and gamma scans the received core samples.
4- Performs the core plugging, slabbing, routine and special core photography
5- Performs the porosity and permeability studies using the available equipment as per the standard procedures.
C) When in the core archive module
1- Receives and processes well samples and cores from drilling locations. This includes indexing, cataloguing, storage and
retrieval for examination and or sampling.
2- Performs the sample washing procedures using the available equipment.

Skills

1) Geotechnician: Preferable to be a graduate of technical ladder apprentice program, or possess equivalent training and
experience.
2) Should be good in reading, writing and speaking English
3) Should complete ITC requirements (ER, M5, S5)
4) Should have a valid SAG driver license.
5) Should spend a minimum of four (4) years in assigned operational modules.
6) Should complete all the necessary computer training, loss prevention and safety training, especially, on HF acid handling.
