SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Thuraya Telecommunications Company

(a) Manages multiple servers and workstations, ensuring proper integration of these components with existing company’s computer systems.
(b) Plans and implements system security policy, to include host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.
(c) Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning, and develops capital and operating budget proposals.
(d) Provides on-call consulting advice and technical support to various users/client organizations regarding specific operational/applications issues.
(e) Designs and develops advanced methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying data for input and/or retrieval.
(f) Installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current site licenses; designs, programs, and manages websites and associated pages.
(g)Researches, evaluates, purchases, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives.
(h)Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
(i)Develops and implements various training and instruction programs for users on the use of operating systems, networking, applications, and databases.
(j)Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
(k)Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Skills

(a) Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline
(b) A minimum of 3 years experience in the field.
(c) Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures.
(d) Knowledge of a range of network systems, protocols, and applications.
(e) Knowledge and understanding of LAN administration in a secure environment.
(f) Knoweldge in UNIX (Linux, HP-UX, Solaris and Digital UNIX)
