JOB PURPOSE

The company has expanded significantly in the past two years and is expected to develop even further; and one of its major new clients is a corporation established to provide exporters based in their City with services required to enter or expand into foreign markets - which include providing market information, market entry advice, access to potential buyers, etc.

The principal role of the required Business Development Manager (BDM) is to provide a range of in-market services for the Exporters when entering the Saudi Arabia & Egypt market. The BDM will be required to work with the business and government sectors in both Saudi Arabia & Egypt with the aim of developing effective business relationships to facilitate the above and ensure smooth trade flows between the City exporters (Client) and the Saudi Arabia and Egypt importers.

RELATIONSHIPS

1. Reports directly to the Company Chairman and the Head of International Market Development on the Client side.
2. Works in close coordination with the Company Finance Manager and Senior Managers.
3. Interacts, communicates and cooperates with the employees, suppliers and clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To achieve the Client’s targets, the BDM would undertake the following functions in the foreign country (aiming to increase exports to Saudi Arabia and Egypt):

1. Provide local market information, market intelligence and data (through primary research and secondary sources).
2. Develop and manage a database of buyers and key government representatives.
3. Develop business relationships with organizations (importers and potential importers) and key government entities.
4. Increase the awareness of goods and services from through meetings / seminars.
5. Identify and provide export opportunities.
6. Provide local market assessments for goods and services, including basic market research.
7. Provide advice on local trading and business practices, including market entry assistance.
8. Assist with missions / individual visits (to Saudi Arabia and Egypt or vice versa) through business matching and on-the-ground support.
9. Provide assistance when participating in exhibitions.
10. Provide information on local tenders, projects, etc.

Skills

1. Bachelor degree in business, trade or marketing
2. Minimum 5 years experience with an export oriented business or a trade organization
3. A sound understanding of trade flows and patterns
4. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Arabic
5. Well experienced in Administartion and field work
6. Strong and well presented personality
