JOB PURPOSE

The Support Programme Manager - Phase 1 will be responsible to the Head of Support - Phase 1 for the development and implementation of the Contract with MAS (TIMSIP) in the UK. This will involve the development and measurement of Performance indicators and milestones associated with this contract along with any change management aspects to cost, time and quality.


JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

The key aspects of this role will be to focus on the delivery of all the Spares and AGE, the embedding of capability associated with the Depth Shops at King Fahad Air Base at Taif and the delivery of a repair service and technical support from TIMSIP providing the leadership for this aspect of the programme operating closely with the Customer in RSAF HQ and the Taif Operations team at Taif. The main accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

1. Develop and establish the necessary Performance Framework and Business/Project processes required to manage Suppliers; in particular TIMSIP, covering Typhoon Support Capability, Logistics and Supply.

2. Accountable for the Milestone and Performance Management and measurement of TIMSIP deliverables including any changes to the contract.

3 Deputise for Head of Support - Phase 1 as required.

4. Accountable for the Day to Day management and development element of the project managers working as part of the team.

5. Accountable for the alignment of this aspect of the project with the PM Strategy with Corporate Best Practice and Business Improvement initiatives as appropriate including ensuring adherence to the BAE SYSTEMS Operational Framework and Life Cycle Management Governance requirements.

6. Accountable for the management of the financial (including risk & opportunities) aspects of the TIMSIP costs overall (including changes).

7. Develop and manage a plan to ensure other Suppliers identified have correctly scoped statements of work to cover the work packages required.

8. Ensure the development of the team is in line with the Saudisation plan agreed with the customer.

Skills

1. Demonstrate the ability to think strategically, logically; flexibility and adaptability in developing proactively new initiatives within the Project Management remit is key.

2. Project Management of complex major multinational contracts over a significant and diverse Supplier base in the Air Sector having significant project management experience with specific experience in a senior project management role in .

3. Demonstrate experience in managing a customer as part of a large multifunctional, multi Business Unit Team in a multi-national environment in a complex, demanding and responsive environment.

4. Exposure to Corporate and UK and the Rest of the World Project Management Governance requirement to be able to implement or escalate project management issues within the Salam Support Project.

5. Introducing and documenting new Project Management capability requirements to the Project. (eg. Business Winning, Supply Chain and Customer Management, Knowledge Management).

6. Skills and knowledge to be able to interface with companies in Saudi Arabia in order to contract for Services and Deliverables.

7. Typhoon aircraft experience along with working with overseas customers.

The candidate shall be educated to a bachelor’s degree level preferably in engineering or Project Management related discipline and be or have:

1. An accredited Project Management Professional obtained from a recognised institute or association.

2. Working knowledge and experience of Service/Project Management in a complex engineering or Service orientated business with over 10 years relevant experience.

3. Extensive experience in the application of the Operational Framework and in particular the execution of all Phases of Lifecycle Management.
