Technical Manager

This position reports to the CEO and has overall management responsibility for the company's technical operations, including network operations and engineering, maintenance and technical services. The position has primary responsibility for service results, network deployment, network reliability and customer satisfaction.

The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring network interoperability standards are achieved with incumbent carriers, performing root cause analysis of network problems to determine the origin of network faults and process failures, and other industry performance benchmarks, to provide network solutions. He strategically focuses on all aspects of the reliable operation of the corporations multiple LAN and WAN networks:

Main Duties:

- Manages a team consisting of administrators and engineers with responsibilities for tactical network engineering & implementation, day-to-day network support including Cisco routers and switches, UNIX servers and appliances.
- Manages and directs the development of the Company's Network plans to meet business direction.
- Oversees the process development associated with improving the sustainability of the network, project completion, real-time escalation, effectiveness, overall network performance and coordination of major activities.
- Develops network expansion and enhancement plans to facilitate growth of services and is responsible for traffic engineering.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures supporting network operations management, hardware and software use, licensing compliance, installation, support, security, backup, remote support and software image standardization.
- Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures.
- Conducts reports for capacity utilization and overbuilds analysis.
- Research and evaluates new technologies.

Skills

*5 years experience in a Network Operations or System Administration role with experience supporting a web services offering.
*Strong verbal and written communication skills
*Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
*Strong interpersonal, problem solving, troubleshooting and customer service abilities.
*Strong experience and technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols.
*Hands-on experience in core technologies including Cisco security, switching, routing, wireless.
*Direct management and supervisory experience in an Information Technology environment.
*Experience developing and implementing change control programs for network operations environment
*Comprehensive understanding of Active Directory.
*Broad understanding of LAN and WAN, SAN and NAS environment, and enterprise backup solutions.
*Comprehensive understanding of the various technology architectures including TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, LAN, WAN, and VPN.
*Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion, independent judgment and confidentiality.
*Advanced level skills in Windows OS platform including Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Exchange 2003, and Microsoft SQL.
*Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter.
*Ability to be on-call beyond normal business hours and on weekends.
*Cisco Certification is a must
