Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Company's principal activity is providing construction management (CM) and project management (PM) services. It carries out CM services such as selection of designers, management of design, cost and schedules, procurement, selection of contractors and management of construction and maintenance related to construction business. Its PM services consist of project planning and surveying, feasibility study, marketing planning, project financing, design review and management, contract and procurement management, quality management, construction supervision, project completion management and maintenance and operation management services. The Company also provides real estate’s investment consulting services and construction technical services.
They currently require a senior quantity surveyor with a degree in Quantity Surveying, or RICS. A background with a consultant or PQS firm is required with over 15 - 20 years experience.

This project is a shipyard expansion project, which include construction of additional dry-dock, steel structure workshops, yard concrete pavement, pier & quay wall. In this regard marine, civil related work experiences shall be welcomed.
The role will include project budget estimation as the cost manager and contract management that is normally expected from the qualified quantity surveyor. Their client prefer western educated British senior quantity surveyor, to handle the Malaysian contractor instead of Malaysian QS.

Project duration:
Our contract with client is 2 years with option of another 2 years until the end of 2013.

Project location:
Project site is located in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia just an hour drive away from the Singapore.

Social condition:
Weather is tropical condition with around 30 degrees Celsius all year around with sudden showers. City is surrounded by the green tropical jungles with well paved highways and local trunk roads. Though ethnic Malaysian is dominantly Muslim, other religions are well allowed in harmony. Diversity of foods is widely accepted by most western and Asian visitors. English is widely spoken and written in Malaysia.

Accommodation:
Separate small furnished house (2+1 bedroom, living room) is prepared with own vehicle.
