Workshop Supervisor (Alfardan Marine Services Co.)

Job Overview

•To be responsible for the efficiency and productivity of the technicians.
•To oversee the workshop performance and ensure the jobs are carried out to the satisfaction of the customers.
•To monitor the hourly sold FRU/HRS within the workshop and the workshop productivity and efficiency of the individual employees involved.
•To establish what the workshop capacity is on a daily basis and passes this information on to the Services Manager.
•To check that time recording is correct on orders and on daily or weekly work sheets and provide support for the technicians via technical resources when problems arise.
•To ensure that the personnel requirements necessary for perfect operation of the standby and emergency services are guaranteed.
•To report to the Service Manager on any disciplinary/staff related issues.
•To advise the Service Manager on the evaluation of the service personnel in relation to performance and conduct, and also makes suggestions to the Training Manager regarding further professional training for the service staff.
•To attend regular department meetings and take a pro-active approach.
•To recommend tools and equipment and make proposal for the annual investment plan.
•To keep updated with technical information and will attend training courses in-house or overseas as needed.

Skills

• Graduate of Marine Science or other related course, Master's degree a plus
• At least 3 years experience in similar capacity
• Flexible, driven and systematic at work
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization, in both a team and independent environment
• Proven ability to use influence and persuasion to achieve desired outcomes in a matrix organization
