HSE Manager
ExecutiveSurf

Our client, a truly global company with over 10, 000 employees is a leading manufacturer of all types of cables from fibre optic communication to HV electric cables. They are currently looking for a HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Manager for an ongoing HV (400, 000 volts) major underground transmission project in Qatar.

The ideal candidate will form part of the large turnkey project team, (i.e survey, design, manufacture, shipping, installation, joining, testing, commissioning and maintenance) and will understand health, safety and environment problems / opportunities and clearly communicate solutions to a broad stakeholder base, convince people to change their methods and beliefs through educating them, and then continue motivating individuals to continue their changed behaviour.

The Safety Manager should:-
* Promote good health, safety and environmental practices throughout
* Devise, develop and monitor effective Risk Assessment management
strategies
* Review and develop health and safety policies, procedures and guidance,
* Consult with senior managers and other line managers and give appropriate advice on formulating best-practice policies and procedures.
* Provide independent professional advice and technical information where appropriate to senior managers and all line managers to keep abreast of changes in HS&E Legislation and Codes of Practice.

Skills

Ideally completely literate in English and Arabic
Ideally experienced in cabling works.
Bachelors Degree in a relevant subject
Proven and Demonstrable track record
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage conflict and provide solutions
Customer orientated, motivated and proactive with an entrepreneurial drive to succeed
Good analytical, strategic and mathematical skills
Capability to form customer and employee relationships and manage and adapt to multi-cultural environments
Ability to multi task and meet deadlines
