BAE SYSTEMS

JOB PURPOSE

To be the single point of responsibility for managing the Human Resources functional community in KSA. The role will be responsible for the development of HR capability and support a range of cross-functional activities, such as implementation of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Value Planning, HR Saudisation Planning, capability development of Saudi National HR employees, and any cross-functional project work.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Development of the HR functional model - this includes (1) development, implementation and maintenance of an HR career path; (2) development and maintenance of an HR functional capability frameworks; (3) development and maintenance of all HR functional job descriptions
• Support HR Management with resource planning / forecasting including coordinating recruitment needs, ensuring timely and appropriate recruitment is undertaken
• Management of the HR Saudisation plan.
• Accurate and timely provision of all required functional data e.g. organisation charts, budget levels, headcount data, succession planning data, Saudisation plan data.
• Production of functional statistics and data for review by HR Management e.g. Saudisation levels, resourcing reports, capability progress.
• Maintain and ensure regular reviews of the Functional Resource Requirement Plans (including baseline, growth, vacancies etc)
• Active management of the HR Saudisation Plan, monitoring, advising, liaising across the function and reporting on progress.
• Ensure implementation of succession plans for all key HR positions.
• Ensure fair and transparent assessment of the capability of all HR employees
• Monitor functional targets and provide regular management information and data, including scorecard inputs, resourcing data, functional headcount data, and headcount budgets.
• Manage any large projects across the HR function - a good example is the Employee Opinion Survey

Skills

• Have a working knowledge and experience of all HR disciplines, in a large business environment.
• Must have experience of designing and implementing complex HR projects or activities, either as a dedicated role or as part of a day to day HR role.
• Must demonstrate the skills required in forward planning, communication and involvement of key contacts in contributing to the success of this role. The candidate will be working alone and with broad requirements, rather than detailed deliverables.
• Exemplary communication skills are required to engage, and influence SN & EE employees within the HR community, motivate and deliver through others (mainly HR Management and Team Leaders) in order to discharge the required HR functional improvement.
• Describe what the job needs to know about other areas of BAE Systems in order to accomplish its objectives. What in the job relies upon external to BAE contacts (e.g., government, professional associations, and competitors)?
• Require knowledge and experience of BAE Systems in Saudi Arabia, specifically in relation to the KSA wide HR organisation, activities and processes. This is very valuable, but not essential given a good external candidate.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically and logically. Flexibility and adaptability in developing new initiatives within Project Management remit.
• SAP HR would be an advantage.
• Extensive skills in planning projects.
• Good research and analysis skills to benchmark and tailor approaches to fit the function.
• Ensure appropriate tailoring of policy and process.
• An ability and willingness to manage difficult situations and resistance from HR functional
