General Manager (Power Generation)

Position Summary:
Directs manufacturing operations through a team of functional managers and front line supervisors. Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.
Position Responsibilities:
- To overlook the daily operations of the overall generating units in a safe and reliable manner.
- Develop sales plans and strategies to improve brand awareness and market share within the industry.
- Continuously organize the evaluation of market needs as well as the needs of individual customers to determine best possible outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with all major customers.
- Establish company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery by benchmarking international standards.
- Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
- Maintain and further enhance plant / unit efficiencies at the maximum level.
- Lead generation operation, maintenance, planning and project teams to ensure the reliable & the most safe, reliable and optimum operation of the generation facilities.
- Ensure and identify the adequate and effective trainings of the operation team.
Skills
• You may come from a business development or project management background however engineering qualifications and a background working within the power industry is essential.
• MBA.
• Extensive experience of a power generation/ utility system operation.
• Organize market feedback as a basis for the development of new sales strategies.
• Ability to efficiently allocate resources to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12 month time span.
• Measurement of performance to company goals and standards and establishment of targets for improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee relations.
• Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

• Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance.
