Business Advisory Services - Human Capital Manager

Job Purpose

The incumbent will provide exceptional advisory services in compliance with Ernst & Young's professional standards. Manager will lead multiple client engagement teams and will work with a wide variety of clients. He/She will be accountable for business development activities on medium sized accounts.

General Roles & Responsibilities

Work will include scoping, proposal writing, planning, and execution of Human Capital projects covering the following:
Organization Design - incumbent should be conversant with methods of arriving at suitable organization designs based on understanding and analyzing business and operating models;
Performance Management - Experience in balanced scorecards (or similar concepts) and employee performance management systems;
Job Analysis - Hands-on experience in (at least one) job analysis and job evaluation method;
Pay & Compensation - Experience in pay & compensation design, survey etc;
Competency Management - Experience in competency mapping;
Variable Pay - Incentive schemes, share-based incentives;
Strategic Planning/ Business Planning & Performance Planning experience;
Career Ladder Advisory;
HR Policies & Procedures - process mapping, policy writing experience.
In coordination with the team leaders assist in the execution of compensation processes, including merit increases, compensation adjustments, and recognition awards;
Demonstrate knowledge of diverse HR functions through extensive experience and be recognized for that expertise. Manage complex HR projects with minimal direction;
Coordinate all engagement activities, serving as link between engagement team, engagement partner, and to some extent, client personnel.

Financial Growth

Contribute to the growth by ensuring clients engagements are executed in an efficient manner. Identify and follow up on opportunities to provide new services;
Looks for new opportunities by forecasting client needs;
Manage engagement profitability and be accountable for the economics of the engagement;
Keep current on the market and monitor developments by competitors.

Service Quality / Client care

Manage client expectations;
Ensure client deliverables are quality focused and delivered on a timely basis;
Effectively manage risk and quality of an account;
Demonstrate business judgment in advising clients i.e. perceived value add in addition to our scope of work, yet managing risks;
Develop new and refine existing EY products to meet with clients and market requirements, yet complying with EY risk management policies.
Operational Excellence
Ensure engagements are executed in accordance with the firm's methodologies, guidance and professional standards;
Maintain contacts with various subject matter experts and solution teams from other offices to leverage inter-office expertise and experience.
Human Resources
Leads engagement teams with clear expectations from them on the engagements/ assignments;
Actively develops our professionals by providing day-to-day guidance, feedback and on-the-job coaching;
Mentor new staff in the team, ensuring a structured career path for each with a clearly defined, corresponding training program;
Participate in recruitment and develop and help staff identify their training & development needs and encourage the potential within all staff to take on challenging opportunities.

Skills

To qualify, candidates must have:
Relevant bachelor's degree from a reputed institution. Additional qualification such as MBA would be highly preferred;
Five to seven years' relevant experience with a minimum of two years within a managerial position;
Detailed knowledge of HR policies and procedures;
Strong knowledge in the areas of organisation re-structure, business transformation, programme management;
Ability to apply advanced principles and concepts to a wide range of work in a complex functional area;
Previous experience with one of the big 4 would be a plus. Experience in an internal or external consulting role is a must;
Ability to serve as a project manager for medium/large projects or oversee significant portions of major or highly complex projects;
strong customer service, facilitation, conflict management, change management, listening, responding, interpersonal, influencing and project management skills;
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
