Systems Specialist

My client, a National Bank in the Middle East is looking for a Systems Specialist to join their IT Support & Operations team.

The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for administrating and proactively managing the Group’s Distributed Systems to provide reliable and highly available services to all users. They will also aim to continuously improve the Distributed Systems strategies to develop working order and delivery.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Implement strong relations with selected vendors for systems software, application, and hardware delivery and maintenance.

Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group’s goals/ objectives.

Ensure timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required

Work with the team to ensure 24 hours availability for Distributed Systems. On-call support rotation will be required.

Assist the team with general server maintenance for Distributed Systems

Skills

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Minimum 8 years experience in financial services with a specialization in systems technical design, implementation and maintenance of main server systems relevant to the distributed environment (i.e. Base 24, Prime).

Training courses and certification in operating systems, security and applications support.


Required Special Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferable).

Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and financial management skills.

Self-driven with well-developed leadership, motivational and team-building skills

Understanding of linkages driving profit.

Good interpersonal and networking skills.
