This is the best time for you to be a part of the team that provides Smart Grid solutions including Distribution Management System (DMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), Substation Automation Systems, Meters, to the energy industry. You will be required to work closely with colleagues from other GE product lines in the management of the ITO (inception to order) process, preparing and presenting proposals in support of sales activities in the Middle East and Africa region.
Role Summary/Purpose
The Segment Leader is a senior position, reporting to the Regional General Manager for T&D. You will have direct responsibility for growing the Automation Business - Scada / EMS / DMS and Substation Automation systems. The job will have elements of Commercial and Business Development activities. GE T&D is well-recognized leader in these technologies. Prior experience is valued and necessary in growing this segment of the business even further.
Essential Responsibilities
* Develop and execute business plans for the Automation business in MEA, aligned with GEâs regional plans to grow this segment.
* Identify business priorities based on clear understanding of different Automation segments and growth areas; be it Industrial or Utility.
* Develop Channel Partners and align go-to-market strategies.
* Identify key opportunities and risks by leveraging T&D Channelâs sales and technical support organizations; leverage the global T&D Channel community to target specific customer segments.
* Develop executable account plans to capitalize on opportunities while mitigating risks.
* Manage lead development, follow-up and closure; Provide necessary Sales support to develop leads and follow them to closure.
* Identify product gaps within categories or solutions and communicate findings to Product Development.
* Become a technology and solution expert to provide specific focus, strategy and business development opportunities for Channels and Alliance Partners in the region.
* Develop EPC strategy for the Projects business by identifying partners and evolving winning deal structures.
* Provide inputs for regional pricing strategies for products and solutions
* Work with engineering segment leaders to keep standard specifications current with market conditions in addition to regional Regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Support sales team with product training, demos, and technical customer seminars.
Qualifications/Requirements
* BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field* Strong Commercial/Marketing background with proven success in business development, Product management.* Good knowledge of the Power Utility Industry with hands-on experience in Automation Systems â SCADA / EMS / DMS and Substation Automation Systems. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; ability to develop clear and concise customer presentations.* General technical understanding of products and service offerings in the T&D industry with an understanding of technical risk profile and appropriate mitigation.
