Job Description

We are seeking a Buyer for our Nike brand team, handling the running brand. You will have worked as a Buyer for a renowned retailer group for 2-3 years and be looking for the next level to join a well established team based in Dubai. A retail buyer is responsible for planning and selecting the range of products to sell in this category within all sports stores. The buyer must consider the following factors when making purchasing decisions. Customer demand, price, quality and availability. Market trends, store policy, financial budgets. Buyers source new merchandise and review existing ones to ensure the product remains competitive. By full understanding the customers needs, you are able to maximize profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices. Keeping up to date with the trends and reacting to changes in demand are the key elements of this role. You will have a considerable amount of responsibility and autonomy in what is often a pressurized environment. Typical activities vary, especially those working in fashion, seasons, assemble new collections of merchandise, throughout the year tasks will be typically, analyzing customer buying patterns and predicting future trends, regularly reviewing performance indicators, sales and discount levels, managing plans for stock levels, reacting to changes in demand, reacting to changes in logistics, meeting the principal and negotiating the contracts. Maintaining relationship with the supplier. Liaising with other departments within the group/organization to ensure projects are completed, attending trade fairs, select and assemble the new collections, participating in promotions for the brand, presenting new ranges to the senior retail managers, writing and reporting forecasting sales levels, seeking merchandise feedback from the customers.
