Job Description

Job Purpose:

The job holder runs the day-to-day catering operations and services in sites, remote and offshore location where Zamil Operations & Maintenance Company has a catering contract. The Catering Manager leads a team of chefs and catering assistants. He is tasked with optimizing the quality of the food, service and performance of his project. He is also tasked in achieving good quality at a competitive cost while maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer / contractor satisfaction.

Key Result Areas:

•Menu planning in consultation with chefs and ordering supplies as required
•Hiring, training, supervising and motivating permanent and outsourced staff
•Organizing staff rotation
•Ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived
•Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided
•Setting and monitoring budgets and maintaining financial and administrative records.
•Travel on site location

Skills

Person Specifications:

Education:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business or any related discipline.

Experience:
•5 Years experience in catering firms, In-house catering operations including those in large corporate settings such as business and factory canteens, offshore oil/gas rigs, 5-star hotels.

Computer Skill / Proficiency:
•High proficiency in MS Office applications.

Communication Skills Required
•Excellent Arabic / English Skills both oral and written.
•Excellent interpersonal skill

•Strong organizational, time management skills and a high level of initiative
•Ability to manage multicultural workforce / clients and can focus on client and customer services
•Good business and commercial acumen
•Strong leadership and motivating skills including the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff
•Ability to work under stress, good at thinking quickly and sorting out problems on the spot, and the ability to stay calm in a crisis
•Financial, budgeting and stock rotation skills.
•Knowledge of food, food hygiene, food safety and food preparation.
