Control Room Operator, MED Plant(Water Production – Yanbu)

Job Description

Process Control:
 Monitor process parameters and control within defined limits and take the necessary corrective action in case of emergencies or equipment breakdown to ensure the uninterrupted service. Shift take over - review with outgoing shift control operator the activities of the previous shift such as, tripping, shut-downs, start-ups, deviations from normal operating standards, etc. to ensure that continuing problems are handled as necessary.
 Check parameters, alarms, unit production, communicate with waist water pump station relating to water consumption requirements GTG for steam requirements, corrective action in respect of deviations according to established procedures and report to shift supervisor for further advice and action.
 Coordinate with Field Operators and shift supervision to resolve deviations from normal standards. Include isolating equipment and auxiliaries, operating the electrical system, switching of the network, etc. to carry out maintenance and as required.
 Communicate and coordinate with GTG and STG operations relating to steam, process and service water requirements.
 Participate in inspections to ascertain the mechanical status of the DESAL plant. Includes checking for water tank levels, battery chargers, UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), perform needed housekeeping activities and report abnormalities to shift supervision for further action.
 Monitor conductivity, PH and communicate readings to the Laboratory and implement instructions to bring levels in line with required standards.
 Act as first response to emergency situations; take appropriate steps to stabilize the problem as much as possible while simultaneously informing the shift in-charge and other parties as indicated in the procedures to safeguard unit and possibly personnel

About This Company

Established in terms of Royal Decree M/29 of 18 October 2000 (22 Rajab 1421 Hijra) as a joint-stock company, Marafiq is owned by its four major shareholders - the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RC), Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), and the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
