Electrical Project Engineer

Job Description

Execute multiple minor to mid-size projects.
Prepare project plan and obtain management approval of the project plan.
Assure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities.
Apply project resources according to the approved project plan.
Analyse risk and instigate avoidance activities. Establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action.
Track and report on progress to plan.
Analyse the actual performance against the plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives.
Keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
Involve functional expertise in design reviews and key decisions as well as risk strategies.
Assure timely adaptive action is taken.
Manage change to preserve business plan commitments. Initiate Phase Review if objectives must change.
Negotiate the performance of activities with team members and their managers.
Establish and publish clear priorities among projects activities.
Coordinate management and technical decisions.
Arbitrate and resolve conflict and interface problems within the project.
Assure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities.

Skills

BSc degree in any Electrical Engineering discipline with minimum 10 years project experience in the Aluminium, Steel, Petrochemical /Oil Industry.
The ability to handle high impact/high complexity assignments is required. The incumbent has demonstrated the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with all co-workers and has demonstrated the ability to handle projects independently.
Demonstrated ability in achieving results and driving change is required. The position requires strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Engineering Specifications & applicable Industry Standards and Codes (eg. API, ASME).
Knowledge of Microsoft Project software.
Reads and understands engineering drawings.
Fully conversant with engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, engineering standards specs and codes.
Knowledge of PC & applicable software related to projects.
Fluent in English language.
Very Good oral & written Communication Skills.
